NBS Technology
Making Steel Building Design & Construction More Efficient
Toolbox- The Technology & Information Portal
The NBS Toolbox app serves as your portal to important product related data, latest news, brochures, specifications, details, project profiles, energy code information, and our video library. The Message center allows easy access to the latest news and announcements. You can even access our Energy Hotline and local energy code information in real time.
eQuote, Renderings, SketchUp, Virtual Reality
eQuote, our web-based estimating tool, allows you to easily upload your specs and generate 3D models of your buildings, making your presentation much more impactful than a standard 2D drawing.
Enhance your 3D model even further with SketchUp Pro, which allows you to enrich your building models to make your rendering more true-to-life. Impress them even more with our dynamic 3D presentation tools that allow you to transform your building into a real-world, virtual reality experience.
BIM 3D Technology
NBS is driving an unparalleled revolution in the construction industry using 3D digital modeling software to more effectively design, detail, manufacture and erect steel buildings.
This incredible technology improves communication and enhances quality control, including clash detection. It also serves as a significant resource for erectors in viewing assemblies.
ShakeoutPro - Our Jobsite Staging App
ShakeoutPro® is a unique mobile app specifically developed to help Builders and Erectors save time receiving, unloading and staging steel at the job site. Using the camera on your mobile device, capture the barcode affixed to a part, crate or bundle at your jobsite. That part’s location will then be highlighted on your project’s 3D BIM model – showing you exactly where it fits within the project. From there, you can determine where to stage the parts for maximum efficiency.
Anchor Bolt Verification in the Field
One of the most common mistakes in metal building construction today is the incorrect placement of anchor bolts. Once the BIM model is completed, it can be exported to Trimble’s Field Link for Structures tablet – which, when interfaced with the Robotic Total Stations (RTS), allows for precise field layout of the points for verification. After the anchor bolts have been placed, the RTS system can be used to confirm the correct placement of anchor bolts, comparing the actual locations to those in the BIM model.
